party-foundation

MAC- Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

They describe this product as:
A creamy, luxurious, gel-based foundation that provides medium buildable to high coverage with a natural satin finish. Hydrating, instantly revitalizes the skin while keeping it looking smooth, soft and plush.
Long-wearing, water-resistant.
This product retails at £23 for 30ml.
What did I think?...
I found this foundation very thick.. which was great for a night out when I want to wear lots of make up but during the day I don't like looking like I've 'plastered' it on. When mixed with my Chanel foundation it created a nice consistency, but most mornings I don't have time to mix foundations and faff around. A big positive about this foundation is that it lasted me ages, just over a year. Considering the very reasonable price this is a big bonus.
So in conclusion I am keeping this aside for nights out but steering clear for day wear make up.

Would I buy it again?...
I would buy this product again as I liked the look of it on nights out. It made my skin look flawless but not shiny. At £23 I would be happy to spend this as it lasted me ages, a tiny amount covers my whole face and I love how it looks on a night out. It just means that I need to have two foundations but I think its worth it.

What do I think of the brand?...
This is the first MAC product I have used, I was very pleased with the reasonable price. I really want to try out more MAC products as I think the brand gives off the right image to me. The eye shadows are really cute and I really want their blush in a peach colour.
So hopefully I'll be blogging about them soon!!

I'd love to hear your comments on any MAC products you've loved...

Day-wear-plus

Estee Lauder -DayWear Plus

They describe this product as :

This "tint-release" moisturising lotion enhances skin with a sheer tint that appears as you apply.
Plus, like all DayWear Plus formulas it actively shields skin to help prevent lines before they appear — so your skin looks smoother and healthier, longer.
This product retails at £32 per 50ml.

What did I think?....
I love this product, I use it every day without fail. I apply it before my foundation to help moisturise my skin. I often get dry skin around my nose and on different parts of my face so a decent moisturizer is vital to my make up bag. It smells nice, has a gorgeous tint to match all skin colours and once applied isn't sticky or shiny but silky on the skin.
This tiny 50ml bottle has lasted me 14months!! Which is very impressive as I use it every day.. you only need a tiny amount to cover you whole face.

Would I buy it again?...
My boyfriends mum works for Estee Lauder so I get a lot of sample products from her and this one I recieved as a christmas present.
At £32 this is an expensive moisturizer, considering I would spend around that amount for my foundation, but I think this product is worth it especially as it lasts so long!

What do I think of the brand?...
I was only properly introduced to Estee Lauder when I started going out with my boyfriend (almost 2 years ago now), I have since used a lot of their products and perfume. I have been impressed with the high quality of their products.
I have never thought about buying Lauder products before as I don't feel that they are targeted to me as a consumer. The price is a little high for a students budget and the image is for more mature women.
I think this is a shame as I have been very impressed with their products.

I have just recieved the pot of DayWear Plus AM and PM 'Multi protection anti-oxidant creme' which I am so excited to try out. So look out for a review on that soon!!

Sve's-the-word

"Sve is a women’s couture high end and ready-to-wear fashion label, also producing men’s casual wear, consisting of one-off unique t-shirts which are on sale in exclusive boutiques across Manchester. In February 2010 I debuted my autumn/winter 10-11 collection on the catwalk at the London fashion week event at Movida, London.
Sve Women’s wear range consists of black and neutral colours and texture also plays a huge part in the concept of these collections.
Sve womens wear boutique opened on the 1st December 2010 at 48B High Street, Tarporley, Cheshire. Dont miss out on the new evening dresses in store now... just in time for Valentines!"

This amazing unique designer happens to be my boyfriends sister!! I have been lucky enough to see her fashion label come to life over the past 2 years. She graduated from university, was chosen to show at London fashion week, opened her own shop in Tarpoley and hosted a fashion show for the village to see which she single handedly organised!
(I never realised how much preparation and organisation is needed to go into an event like this)
It was a massive success with over 150 people attending.
Below is a blog written on this event:

Here is another write up from the breath taking event...

‘Sve’ fashion designer held a dazzling fashion show at the Swan hotel in Tarporley last week -

Sally Ellis brought that modern twist to Tarporley in Cheshire last week by holding a dazzling fashion show for all of Cheshire and surrounding areas to see, show casing her own bespoke ladies wear under her own label ‘Sve’.
The doors opened at 7pm on wednesday,2nd February in the Hunt room at the Swan hotel in Tarporley, the champagne flowed and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement.

A short film of Sally’s past and present collections was played on a monitor before the music started and the models began to parade up and down the catwalk, it was a truly mesmerizing show and the garments were very unique and from the gasps coming from the audience I believe the other ladies thought so too.

All in all the evening was a huge success and we will look forward to seeing Sve’s Spring/Summer collection very soon…."

Here are a few of my photo's from the event...

My very own Sve

This is my very own piece of Sve, a cute little jumped with a fur heart which she gave me for my 18th birthday. When ever I visit the shop my eyes water and the hunger to buy every single stunning piece is over whelming. My favourite piece is this fierce white stud dress....

The second I saw it I fell in love. I am saving my pennies as one day it will be mine!!
I also have my eyes on this beauty...

This is her gorgeous little boutique in the heart of Cheshire...

Miss Ellis is definitely one to watch.. Tarpoley first but who knows where next. One things for sure that one day soon she'll be known everywhere and people all over the country will be able to admire her clothes. I wish her all the luck in the world.
I will keep you posted on future events and when you can order online...

Notebook Obessed

I must admit I have a slight obsession with notebooks...
Writing lists is a major hobby of mine.
So I thought I just had to share my beautiful new notebook with you.. from WHSmiths. It took me 15 minutes to choose.. I wasn't very impressed with their selection. But this one jumped out at me.
In it am going to write about blogs I want to do and any tips/ interesting fashion or beauty advice I have found on other peoples blogs.

Fairie-ality

This beautiful book I recieved one christmas of an Auntie. It's pages are bursting with creativity and artistic designs. Not only with the gorgeous fairie outfits but also with thought and design that has gone into every individual page. There are different textures of paper, envelopes with designs in and hidden pages which are waiting to be explored.

The first page descibes the book as follows....
"The Season approaches, and you are cordially invited to experience first-hand an unforgettable adventure in fashion design. Enclosed within these covers is the latest collection from the top fairie couturier, the House of Ellwand. Whether you're heading to a cotillion or a picnic, a parade or a comet-couting party, Ellwand is the look.
From vivid evening wear to camouflaged flywear, the Ellwand line combines sheer artistry with unparalleled standards of workmanship to offer you one-of-a-kind garments of tasteful originality. Conjuring fabrics from fantasy and dresses from dreams, Ellwand will wrap you in his mystery. Welcome... to Fairie-ality."

Here's a little insight into the simplistic beauty of this intruiguing book....

The last chapter is basd on 'A Fairie Tale Wedding'
There are beautiful designs for the mother of the bride, the groom, the flower girls and the most breath taking.. the bride.

The time and effort that has gone into the making of all these tiny outfits is remarkable.. this book is just over A4 and has 128 pages.
As a budding artist I have read this book cover to cover a million times. It is a very easy but enjoyable read, and can be 'flicked' through if you do not desire to read the interesting words and phrases. I recommend this to anyone interested in fashion, art or someone wanting to read something a bit different!
